The Ibiza Boho Chic arrives to Geneva

What does the term BOHO has that we all love to adopt? Yes, “being Boho” is totally IN and the Geneva based Boho Bazaar founder, Evguenia Vojakina, tells us how to look Boho Chic with a few “clicks”.

Sienna Miller, Kate Moss, the Olsen’s sisters, they all have been influenced by this early 21st Century inspired fashion trend that you will find in this online handbag and accessory store called Boho Bazaar.

Evguenia Vojakina, founder of The Boho Bazaar Online Store

Last January, after several trips to the magical island of Ibiza, Evguenia Vojakina decided to bring the free, positive and bright attitude she found there to our city of Geneva. “I always tried to do what I believed in and was passionate about”, Evguenia says during our meeting. In her boho online store you will find all handmade bags and accessories that make us be Boho from head to toe.

With her Russian origins, she found her inspiration in the Ibiza hippy markets. She admires people who live without regrets, who follow their dreams and work hard to make them happen. Her bags, and other accessories are just a reflection of her passion for life philosophy.

The Online Boho Bazaar store is just a beginning. Her next step is making her own collection. “If you have a dream, you should at least try to move towards it, even if it’s crazy. Very often the fear of failure stops us from starting something new.” EV

Experimenting with Tiffany Rowe

Tiffany Rowe

It’s Friday morning and I have “RDV”, what the French speakers love to call “a meeting”, with a jewelry artist.

In a British lookalike Vevey neighborhood, a ravishing, smiling and absolutely friendly Tiffany Rowe is ready to show me and tell me all about her passion in life: the ART of creating jewelry.

It’s been 10 years since she started this thrilling adventure in the art jewelry universe. Right after a, let’s say “not pleasant”, sentimental breakup, she started creating rings and offer them to her close friends in small chocolate boxes. That was just the beginning of her new era. Following her dad’s advice (a former physician with an art background), she kept her passion for art alive while working in other fields in order to be completely independent. Today, Tiffany teaches biology to young students while she designs and expresses her passion through her creative work.

What does make a piece of jewelry to be considered ART? Let’s say: Authenticity, Exclusivity, and also, Material use uniqueness. Tiffany Rowe’s art is not only based on precious materials and gems, but also on common materials such as plastic, glass, cables and ropes.

“IT HAS TO HAVE A MEANING”. Tiffany only creates following her intuition, vision, and heart. All her pieces (only one piece of each) are made after travels and life experiences. You can feel the New Orleans Carnival vibe through the Lobster necklace, the Southeast England piers smell with the “Nautical but Nice” collection, the Essence of a woman and everything that makes her be A WOMAN with the Essence collection, or just loose yourself through the Enchanted Garden collection.

My favorite? Hard to decide among all these stunning pieces of ART… but I would say: the Firework necklaces and the Bubble rings!

Don’t miss her next June 27th at the Marché Sans Puces in Geneva! MORE INFO

Today, you find her label: Crea-tiff in different galleries and stores around Switzerland and also on her online boutique

Travel away with Ma Vie sur Mars

"It's a god-awful small affair, to the girl with the mousy hair. But her mummy is yelling NO and her daddy has told her TO GO" David Bowie - Life on Mars. 1971.
This song is the main reason why 5 years ago Sabrina Berreghis, owner of Ma Vie sur Mars, named this unusual and surprising store after the fourth planet from the Sun. Today, I was surprised to find this oasis in the hearth of Geneva.

¿Have you ever felt like traveling far away? Go to 14 Rue Jean Violette and you will find an exquisite leather bags, shoes and accessories collection. Numero 10, MOMA, Goti, NDC, NyLo, Pagan Poetry, Martinica, Richiami, Vive la Difference, all "made by hand designs" that will take your breath away. The place, an old bindery where you will find yourself immerse in the leather planet!

Felt in love with an amazing XXL satchel.. and the About a Ring collection from the young genevoise designer Charlotte Cochet.
